Orlando Collado, Music Educator

The music program uses movement and language to introduce musical concepts to our students starting from Kindergarten. Students demonstrate their skills by singing and playing instruments. Students in grades K-2nd receive general music instruction which introduces the elements of music. In third and fourth grade students are introduced to instrumental music, music history and music theory. Third through fifth grade students learn to play xylophones, metallophones, glockenspiels, drums and other percussion instruments. Fifth grade students continue to build foundational music skills as they delve a little deeper into the musical elements and music theory. Outstanding students are provided music performance opportunities throughout the year.
